I Believe.

In this world today, we are often asked what we believe, because we have to have something we believe in otherwise this world seems dim and dark. We need a belief system, something to support us. In todays trials it's a necessity. I came across the talk by Elder Jeffery R Holland from the LDS General Conference in April. "Lord, I believe." LOOK IT UP. http://youtu.be/2nPY22FoDpY Shay's thoughts. Often we lead our lives with what we don't know, but as I do that it makes me question what I do know. If I change it to leading with what I do know, there is something firm to stand on. This world changes so fast, mostly in way we don't want it to, ways we don't plan, and places our hearts don't want to believe. Sometimes it's difficult to understand why things happen, or why we are going through them. For me I struggle understanding why some prayers are answered and others seem to be forgotten, but then I am remember that I am living for the...

1 Year; a long one, a hard one, a quick one, and adventurous one.

I had to wait a day to figure out how I wanted to verbalize this. 1 year ago 4 people from my small town were killed in a car accident. One of which was my really close friend Renzo. He would always joke around  about us getting married, and things like that. He would live funny notes on my car, always give me a hug when he saw me, and try non stop to make me smile. It worked. Even since his death even the memories make me smile. Here's the thing, the year of firsts is over. Which means the year of new things can happen. Wallowing isn't good. Even though you try to be good and faithful in this life, doesn't mean everything will always be all peachy keen. In fact the more faithful you are the more the adversary tries to cut you down. Here's the thing though. He won't have power over me. This last year has been one of the hardest, most heart breaking, painful, horrible years I have ever had (and that's saying worse then the divorce, worse then the bone...

Numb.

I haven't fully wrapped my brain around the fact that my friend is taken from this life. Sometimes it feels like it honestly can't be real and I will wake up from this bad dream at any given moment. However I know deep down that's not the case. Coming home for the first time since I left has been rather strange. It feels as if it's been a long time here, and I need to get back to real life in order to begin moving on with my life. Things change in the blink of an eye. In Jorden's funeral the quote was said, "Death motivates us to live" Which I think is so powerful and so true. I will never take my life for granted, because I never know when my father in heaven is in need of me. I will live each day, and I will let the people I love know that I love them each and every day. Life is far to short to live with regrets, unkindness, and grudges. Move on from those who have hurt you, pray for those who continually use you, and smile to everyone. ...
